Jonathan Stanley appointed to L.E.A.R.N. board

Solon, Ohio—Jonathan Stanley, director of education and government strategies for Tarkett North America, has been appointed to a two-year term on the L.E.A.R.N. (Learning Environments Action Research Network) board of directors.

“We are all excited about the valuable contributions and insights Jonathan will bring to our organization,” said Jeannie Haubert, executive director, L.E.A.R.N.

L.E.A.R.N. focuses on creating safe, innovative and healthy learning environments for students nationwide. The organization also uses a network of education partners to provide research on educational spaces. It makes this information accessible through symposia, research briefs and podcasts for school superintendents, architects and designers.

At Tarkett, Stanley is the visionary behind the Healthy Building Summit. The event brings together designers, facility managers, educators, institutional leaders, maintenance staff and construction experts to solve problems through collaboration.

“We saw a gap in interdisciplinary collaboration around healthy buildings, especially in educational settings,” Stanley said. “L.E.A.R.N.’s goals speak directly to that gap—helping schools access simplified research to make evidence-based decisions about the built environment.”

L.E.A.R.N. also selected Stanley as the new host of its podcast for the next year. The podcast focuses on making research accessible to support thriving learning spaces.

“Each role within the education system brings a unique perspective and experience of the space, but too often, we’re giving design teams conflicting direction without understanding each other’s points of view,” Stanley added. “We just don’t know what we don’t know. But getting on the same page helps us move forward with more educated and purposeful decisions and gives our students healthier buildings in the process. It’s all the more reason I’m so happy to be a part of the L.E.A.R.N. board.”
