Karndean showcases new LVT designs at NeoCon

Chicago—For Karndean Designflooring, the word “design” is more than part of the company name. With a history of innovation dating to the 1970s, flooring design is embedded in Karndean’s mission. That commitment to artistry, craftsmanship and creativity can be seen firsthand this week, as Karndean returns to NeoCon—the premier event for the commercial interior design industry.

The main attraction will be the company’s newly updated Art Select collection, which has been generating buzz since its introduction in January at Surfaces. The high-end collection includes more than 45 realistic wood and stone designs—all with a 30-mil wear layer, available in both glue-down and rigid core constructions.

Samantha Lisi, Karndean vice president of commercial sales, said NeoCon provides the perfect showcase for Art Select. “We’re really looking forward to connecting with customers and the larger design community,” Lisi said. “This is a unique opportunity to show the talented professionals who share our passion for design how our products can be used to create beautiful spaces.”

Luxurious looks

Art Select offers designers and architects all new possibilities for creating commercial spaces. The collection includes stone designs that replicate the opulent look of difficult-to-source natural materials—from the semi-precious gemstone onyx to Italian and Greek marble. As premium LVT backed by a 20-year warranty, these looks can be achieved in a waterproof, scratch-resistant and easy-to-clean flooring product.

Live in the booth: ‘Behind the design’

A family-owned business founded in 1973, Karndean has always offered realistic-looking wood and stone LVT designs. At NeoCon, the company will offer a peek behind the curtain, with in-booth presentations about Karndean’s development process: Traveling the globe to hand select distinctive wood and stone, then enhancing and replicating the source materials in exacting detail as Karndean LVT.

The presentations, by Karndean chief design director, Ashley Dunne, will be 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday; 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday; and 10 a.m. Wednesday.
